border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: #990000;"&gt;I was lent this book by a friend and thought it was fantastic, it is the first Ken Follett book that I have read, as always when I find a author I like, I go line to find out more - that's when I found out I should have read 'Pillars of the Earth' first, but never mind I really enjoyed the book and 'Pillars of The Earth' has gone onto my list of books to be read.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: #990000;"&gt;The story is set in the years 1327 - 1361, in fictional town called Kingsbridge. It incorporates the 100 year war and the plague.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color: #990000;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="color: #990000;"&gt;The main three characters being Caris, Merthin and Gwenda, who's lives you follow through the years, Caris almost being hanged, Merthin surviving the plague and Gwenda being sold by her father to be a prostitute.
